Best Quiet Blenders of 2022: Top 5 Picks Reviewed
Who doesn’t like to chug on a tasty smoothie in the morning or after a workout? But the noise from these little food choppers can be excruciatingly loud.
It can not only wake up and annoy the entire household, but also the old neighbors on the other side of the wall. And if you’re a restaurant or a smoothie shop owner you’ll still want a quiet blender so that your customers are not shocked by the noise. The easiest way to prevent this is to buy a quiet blender in the first place.
There are many factors that determine whether a blender is quiet or not. The strength of the motor, the structural design and material, its size, the setting you choose and the type of nutritious goodies you’re blending (blending ice and frozen food is noisier than blending a ripe banana). Having said that, all quiet blenders have a “quiet shield” that acts as additional sound insulation.
But it can be hard to determine the noise level even when all of these factors are considered. So we have to rely on the decibel range provided by the manufacturers and overall user experience.
That’s what I’ve done after doing a considerable amount of research on over 30 top selling blenders at the moment. I’ve narrowed this top 5 list based on the blenders price, blending capabilities, quietness, cleaning difficulty and more. So I hope you find these recommendations helpful.
1. Hamilton Beach 1500W Quiet Shield Blender – Medium-Priced Quiet Blender
If you’re looking for an elegant quiet blender that is within the $100-$200 price range than this is a great choice. Hamilton has produced some of the quietest blenders ever and this one is another great option for casual users.
PROS:
With 1500 watts it has enough power to crush and blend frozen goodies and ice without any problems. There are 4 programs available: Smoothie, Ice Crush and Clean, all easily run through the controls found on the blender. There is also the option of setting the blending speed exactly the way you want.
Hamilton has stainless steel blades that can slice through any food like butter, ensuring that there are no leftover pieces floating around.
The noise reduction is achieved in two ways. First is the tough plastic base and the second one is the quiet shield that surrounds the jar. The quiet shield can be taken off but I don’t suggest doing that if you wan’t to reduce the noise.
For further noise reduction it’s advised to hold the quiet shield in place with your hands while the blender is working. This way you can further minimize any vibrations during the blending process.
All of the parts that need to be washed are dishwasher friendly, such as the blender jar, lid and temper. Other than that, this blender has a whooping 5 year warranty. That’s a pretty long warranty for a medium priced blender.
CONS:
One user has complained about oil/lubricant leakage from the blender during use. Not inside the blender jar but outside the blender of course. The manufacturer acknowledged the issue and the customer received a replacement so it was likely just one poor model since no one else complained about this.
Users are also not in agreement about the noise levels. Some say that it’s really quiet, while others state that it’s louder than they expected. In my experience this has more to do with expectations than with the actual noise levels. The quiet shield definitely makes it quieter from models that don’t have one, which is also why quiet shields bought separately are quite expensive.
The noise level will also depend on the surface. If the blender is placed on a hard surface the vibrations will be louder. It’s always better to place the blender on a soft material like a rubber pad that can absorb vibrations instead of magnifying them.
Another thing to point out is that the average jar size is 36 oz. This can be a lot for some people and not enough for others, depending on how much produce you want to blend.
VERDICT
This blender is a good choice for households and for smaller restaurants and smoothie shops. It’s decently priced for 1500 watts of power and reduced noise you get from the quiet shield. You can check the current price and customer reviews on Amazon.
2. Vitamix Quiet One Blender 48 oz – Quietest High-End Blender
This is an immensely powerful (and pretty expensive) commercial blender. Only for the top end of the social ladder folks! But obviously, it’s pretty impressive in terms of quietness and other features:
- powerful 3-HP motor
- 48 fluid ounces capacity
- made out of durable plastic
- 4 stainless steel blades
- 6 program buttons, 34 available settings, automatic shut-off
- magnetically secured back cover reduces cleaning time
- thick sound enclosure that drastically reduces blending noise
This blender is quiet enough that you can have a normal conversation standing next to it without straining your vocal cords. There aren’t many cons to consider here. It’s simply on the top price bracket and therefore not an option for most people.
As always when it comes to blenders, there are some mixed reviews. Some people will say it’s the “best blender ever!!”, others gave it 1 star reviews and said it’s completely not worth the money. But look at literally any blender reviews and you’ll see the exact same thing. Extremes. Some people just can’t be pleased.
Can a top of the line blender really deserve a 1/5 star review? Maybe, if there’s some major malfunction with that particular unit. But it really shouldn’t be getting it for “loudness” or anything like that if there are many customers who are perfectly 5 star happy to have spent around $1000 to make extra creamy smoothies quietly. So I suggest you see it in action and judge for yourself:
Having said that, this is a blender for larger restaurants or smoothie shops. Although of course it can be used at home if you want a big and powerful blender. In both situations I would consider this high-end Vitamix blender a long-term solution for awesome smoothies.
3. Jamba Appliances Quiet Shield Blender with 32 oz Jar – My #1 Recommendation
This neat looing Jamba blender is the crowds favorite on Amazon. It’s been getting amazing reviews and is one of the best selling blenders at the moment. The secret of its success is a fairly thick and heavy quiet shield, a decent price tag and a lot of power to tear frozen and regular foods to shreds. These are the main features:
- 1.6 HP motor
- full speed control with pulse
- removable quiet shield
- 32 oz shaterproof jar that can be washed in a dishwasher

Jamba Quiet Shield Blender is one of those blenders that you can have a conversation while its doing its job without the interference of excessive noise. It’s quieter than most other blenders on the market.
This blender also has the least amount of negative reviews out of all blenders on Amazon. Although I don’t think we should completely trust reviews when it comes to products, if it has A LOT of reviews and only a few negative ones it’s a good evidence of durability and overall quality. And that is the case here.

4. New Age Living Quiet Series Blender With Shield – Best Blender Under $100
This is a really good blender. And I’m not talking just about the cool Darth Vaderish appearance either. It does look like Vader a bit thought, right? Joking aside, this New Age Living blender from its Quiet Series boasts some great features:
- 1500 watts of power and 3.5 HP motor

- 5 year warranty
This blender is not only affordable. It’s also pretty powerful, has a big jar and it’s quiet! Plus some users have confirmed that it’s one of the easiest blenders to clean. I’m not being overly optimistic here. Feel free to check the customer reviews for yourself. This is the best lower budget blender I could find that still gets the work done in a quiet manner.
5. NutriBullet Balance, Bluetooth Enabled Smart Blender
I’ll finish this list with one of the most popular blenders in general. NutriBullet is medium priced. It has a decent amount of power and a unique design.
A very unique thing about it is the Bluetooth control system that allows you to control it through your smartphone. You just have to download the NutriBullet app from Apple App Store or Google Play. There are of course also standard controls found on the blender itself.
So what does the app do? It has a nutrition sensor that measures the amount of nutrients and calculates the nutritional value of the smoothie. Pretty neat, and useful if you’re counting your macros. It counts macros by weighing each ingredient of the smoothie you place in. It’s basically a digital scale connected to the app.
The app can also be used to set and track nutrition goals. You can set up your calories, the amount of fat, carbs and protein you want to intake and then the sensor tells you the nutritional value of the smoothie and how much you need to reach your daily goal.
The app also contains hundreds of customizable recipes for smoothies, juices and various healthy alternatives.
Other important features are:
- 1200 watt power
- 2 large cups
- 1 extractor blade
- anti-slip suction legs (also good for preventing vibrations and the noise)
- sturdy leak free construction
- insulated base shell
- LED power button
- 1 year warranty
- plan for full optimum wellness added as a bonus
So this is a pretty unique blender. No wonder it’s become so popular. The app and the unique design set it apart from more basic-looking blenders. It just looks more up-to-date.
As far as the noise is concerned I suggest you watch the video and see for yourself. It’s louder than the other options on this list because it doesn’t have a sound enclosure (quiet shield). But it’s still not too loud. Again, check the video and you can see if its quiet enough for you or not.
Having said that, if you’re feeling adventurous and want to extend that adventurous and athletic spirit of yours to your blender purchase, NutriBullet Balance is a great choice.
Final Thoughts
Not all blenders are equally quiet or of the same quality. Price is one part of the equation, but so are the unique features of each blender. Perhaps you need a really strong blender with a large jar for making 10 smoothie servings at once. This might be the case if you’re running a smoothie shop. If you’re buying a blender only for your personal household you probably don’t need a huge blender and can therefore buy one that’s more affordable and easier to store in a kitchen cabinet.
Either way, there are many different choices on this list. These blenders are some of the quietest ones available at the moment. Mainly due to the quiet shield that acts as an additional barrier against noise. In the case of NutriBullet it has additional insulation at the base and an anti-slip rubber bottom and that helps as well. Any one of these blenders will almost definitely serve you well and for a long time. But which one is best for your individual situation – that choice is ultimately yours to make.
